Jyoti Snehalaya a Child Care Institution (CCI) for girl children in need of care and protection in the age group of 13-18 years was opened on April 3, 2004. It is situated in Beltola, Guwahati. It has an intake capacity of 35.
This Home with excellent infrastructure and sufficient open space for outdoor activities is located in a residential area and it provides a suitable atmosphere for the all-round growth of the girls. Formal Education is given priority. Children are also given tuition and computer classes. Counseling and Yoga meditation sessions help their emotional growth and healing.
The children here excel in singing and dancing, arts and crafts, and acquire leadership qualities under the careful mentoring of the MSMHC Sisters who have been collaborating with Snehalaya since 2004. Many civil society friends come to extend a helping hand in the formation of these children.
